We offer comprehensive carpet and upholstery cleaning services from small domestic jobs up to large hotel and apartment buildings.
Recent work has included cleaning the communal and corridor carpets for the 5 star Rosewood Hotel London, carpet cleaning for various government buildings in Whitehall, apartment blocks and upholstery cleaning at several top-class Central London restaurants.
We also carry out domestic carpet cleaning in and around London and the Home Counties.
Work can be carried out either during the day or at night to minimize disruption to suit the needs of the customer.
We recommend carpets should be cleaned at least once every 12 months in most domestic situations to keep them clean, smelling fresh and looking new.
Carpets in commercial premises such as offices, hotels, and communal areas of apartment blocks should be cleaned every 6 months to maintain their apperance. At DMS Response we provide carpet cleaning services using both steam-cleaning, dry-clean and hot water extraction methods to remove everyday dirt and grime from carpets to keep them looking their best.
Hot water extraction, commonly referred to as "steam cleaning," is a widely used method for deep-cleaning carpets. This process effectively removes dirt, stains, and allergens, restoring the carpet's appearance and promoting a healthier indoor environment. Here's an overview of the typical steps involved:
1. Pre-Inspection
A thorough assessment of the carpet is conducted to identify specific areas requiring attention, such as stains or high-traffic zones.
2. Pre-Vacuuming
The carpet is vacuumed to eliminate loose dirt and debris, enhancing the effectiveness of subsequent cleaning steps.
3. Pre-Treatment
A suitable cleaning solution is applied to the carpet to break down soils and stains, facilitating easier removal during extraction.
4. Agitation
The pre-treatment solution is worked into the carpet fibers using a brush or grooming tool, ensuring even distribution and improved soil loosening.
5. Hot Water Extraction
Hot water, often mixed with a cleaning agent, is injected into the carpet under high pressure. This process dislodges dirt and contaminants from the fibers. Simultaneously, a powerful vacuum extracts the water along with the dissolved soils, resulting in a thorough clean.
6. Neutralizing Rinse
An optional step where a pH-balancing agent is applied to the carpet to neutralize any remaining cleaning solution, preventing residue buildup and maintaining the carpet's softness.
7. Post-Cleaning Inspection
A final walkthrough is performed to ensure all areas have been adequately cleaned and to address any remaining concerns.
8. Drying
Proper drying is crucial to prevent mold growth and ensure the carpet is ready for use. Techniques such as using fans, dehumidifiers, or simply opening windows can expedite the drying process.
It's important to note that while hot water extraction is often referred to as steam cleaning, the process primarily involves hot water rather than steam.
Regularly employing hot water extraction can extend the life of your carpets, enhance indoor air quality, and maintain a clean and inviting appearance in your space.
